"Don't rain on our parade!"
On Saturday, October 26th, despite the wind and scattered rain showers, the 2nd Annual Middlebury Walk for Stroke Awareness was held in downtown Middlebury, VT with an enthusiastic group of supporters.
It was exciting to have five stroke survivors with us to share their stories and be celebrated. They had the chance to meet and connect with each other, and I heard plans being made to go on hikes together or explore adaptive sports opportunities. In addition, it was eye opening to see how many of our non-survivor walkers have personal connections to stroke.
Stroke Awareness Vermont is a labor of love because of our life changing experience with the strokes of our loved one, Trent. We have big hopes for the next year to continue to grow, share stories of survivors, expand our resource section, and become a non-profit. Please join us on this journey as we continue to raise awareness for stroke and provide support for survivors and their families.
